Cue Script Performance

This tool requires you to provide learners with a version of an Elizabethan Cue Script.

An Elizabethan Cue Script contains only one character’s lines and the three words which cue that character to speak.

The cue script must be based on The First Folio publication of Shakespeare’s plays. You can create your own cue script as shown in the example below, alternatively, there are companies who sell replicas of Shakespeare’s cue scripts.
Instructions to learners

I recommend providing learners with their Cue Script seven days in advance of the performance to ensure those with neurodiversity are not disadvantaged by being presented with a text in the studio / classroom / rehearsal.

Following the improvisation from Tool 1, instruct learners to perform the scene using the cue scripts.

Ensure their focus is on listening and responding to each other; the cue script should help facilitate this in performance.
